The Power of Positive Thinking
Posted by Geri on April 25, 20112 commentsOne of my all-time favorite books is The Power of Positive Thinking by Norman Vincent Peale. I know it might sound corny, but I have referred back to this book many times during my adult life.
There is a great deal of research that proves the benefits of positive thought, so why is it so hard to stay on the ‘positive trail’? According to Peale, “unhappiness is the most common state of mind”. According to his research, four out of five people are not as happy as they can be.
Let’s see if we can change that. Here’s what he recommends for a happy heart; it’s called the Happiness Habit:
1. Make a mental list of happy thoughts and pass them through your mind several times a day.
2. If you find yourself feeling stressed-out, frustrated, angry, or otherwise unhappy, STOP. Immediately stop your mind and focus on those things you listed in step #1. Breathe and focus on happiness.
3. Do not affirm those things that did not go well in your day.
4. Look around you and acknowledge 10 things for which you are grateful. Keep working until you have a full list.
Repeat these four steps every day. Remember, it takes twenty one days to create a new habit. Give the Happiness Habit a try for 21 days and see if you feel different. I bet you will.
Enjoy!

Hey, that post leaves me feeling folosih. Kudos to you!
What a great web log. I spend hours on the net reading blogs, about tons of various subjects. I have to first of all give praise to whoever created your theme and second of all to you for writing what i can only describe as an fabulous article. I honestly believe there is a skill to writing articles that only very few posses and honestly you got it. The combining of demonstrative and upper-class content is by all odds super rare with the astronomic amount of blogs on the cyberspace.
